Lesson updates Term 4 Week 4

Dear parents,

Here are some lesson updates for this week:-

Yellow Chinese File

Take note that the Chinese file has been returned to your child last Friday. Do make use of this time to revise her work with her as she will be sitting for her pen and paper test when she comes back after PSLE marking. The lessons tested will be from 1A to 1B lesson 13. She may keep the file till the end of the Semester for revision. 

Spelling 24

Spelling 24, which is the final Spelling for this year, will be on the 29th October 2013 (Tuesday).

Lesson updates Term 4 Week 1

Dear parents,

We have started lesson 13 《送颜色》this week. Pupils had their spelling 21 on Tuesday. Kindly take note that there will not be spelling on the coming Tuesday 24/09/2013 as we have not completed lesson 13.  Hence, spelling 22 will be on the 01/10/2013.

The holistic assessment will be given to the pupils in due course. We will be commencing our term 4 assessment in week 2. 

Assessments for this term include:-

1) Oral (picture) - 10%

2) Listening - 10%

3) Reading - 10%

4) Pen and paper - 20%

Chinese story book fair

Dear parents,

There will be a Chinese story book fair on the 2nd and 3rd of September in school. A brochure was given to the pupils today. If you wish to purchase any of the books, the vendor will be here from 10.00am to 2.00pm on both days in the school canteen.

Puppet show 2nd September 2013 (Monday)

Dear parents,

Please be reminded that the pupils will be going on an excursion to watch the puppet show next Monday 2nd September 2013.

Lesson updates Term 3 Week 9

Dear parents,

1) We have completed lesson 11 of the textbook 《下雨了》and《牙膏乐得吐泡泡》. We has just started on lesson 12 of the textbook 《三个小学生》.

2) The pupils have completed all the assessments for this term. We will be filing the assessments in their portfolio files next week.

3) Please kindly note that Spelling 20 is on next Tuesday 3rd September 2013.

Lesson update Term 3 Week 5

Dear parents,

We have completed unit 9 of the textbook 《找朋友》and 《老师爱我们，我们爱她》.

1) Words learnt include:-

下午、同学、操场、一边、跳舞、唱歌、行礼、高兴

园中、她、学校

2) Sentence structure learnt:-

……一边……，一边……。

The words learnt in this lesson are important that they are words which we would frequently use. Do revise these words with them at home on a regular basis.

P1 Chinese Cultural Shadow Puppet Show

Dear parents,

A letter was given out to the pupils today on P1 Chinese Cultural Shadow Puppet Show. Pupils are strongly encouraged to attend the play as it will be held during school hours.

Kindly look through and fill in the payment slip. Do also note that parents are encouraged to pay the pupils' portion of $10 by cheque.

Spelling 18

Dear parents,

Kindly note that Spelling 18 will be on the 6th August 2013 (Tuesday). As 2 of the Spellings will be taken into account for assessment this term. Please ensure that your child revises her spelling every week.

The Spelling book was returned to the pupils yesterday. Do look through Spelling 17 and sign on the content page before your child submits it.

Lesson update Term 3 Week 1

Dear parents,

The pupils have completed lesson 6 《碰碰船》. They are doing the lesson 7 on 《我们都爱新加坡》 now. Do revise the words learnt with her at home if you have the time.

The form teachers will be distributing the Holistic Assessment for Term 3. Please kindly check with your girl if she has received one.

Dear parents,

The pupils have completed 1A. Do spend some time revising with the girls at home during the June holidays.

Spelling (14)

Dear parents,

The spelling books have been returned to the pupils last week. However, there are still a couple of pupils who have not completed their corrections as well as getting their parent's signature. Kindly check your girl's book today if you have not looked through Spelling (13) and signed.

So sorry for the lack of updates last week as I was very ill. This week, the pupils completed lesson 4 《谁的鼻子长》. 

The pupils have their Spelling 13 today. I will be returning the Spelling book to the girls tomorrow. Kindly sign and ensure that they complete their corrections.

Reading test

Dear parents,

Kindly note that pupils have received a sample of the reading list which is a similar format as the one which  they will be tested on.

Reading test will start in week 8.

Spelling (12)

Dear parents,

Kindly note that there will NO spelling next week 30/04/2013 (Tuesday), as Spelling (12) consists of words from both lessons 1 & 2. The pupils have just started learning lesson 2 (书包的话) today.

Therefore Spelling (12) will be on the following week 07/05/2013 (Tuesday).

Format of Spelling(12):-

As this is the first spelling testing on Chinese characters, the format is different from han yu pin yin.

Section 1(recognising Chinese characters, writing han yu pin yin)

During Spelling, I will be writing the Chinese words on the board, and the pupils have to write the han yu pin yin in their Spelling book.

Section 2 and 3

Pupils are expected to write out all the words in Chinese characters when I read them out during Spelling.

Term 2 Week 5 Updates

Dear parents,

Here's the lesson updates for the class:-

1) We have completed lesson 1, Textbook page 68-71. 

(i) Pupils have learnt how to recognise the following words“太阳、笑、书包、见、说、早、我们、又、读书、写字”

(ii) Pupils have learnt how to write the following words “儿、了、上、个、开”

(iii) Pupils have learnt the words with “人字旁”and“女字旁”

(iv) The used of the words “又”and“也”to form sentences

2) Gentle reminder that Spelling (11) is on Tuesday 23.4.2013.

Please kindly get your child to bring along a small writing whiteboard to be used in class for learning.
